I haven't been able to get a hold of a laptop with ethernet port to try to see if I can look into the 192.168.1.253 router that way. But anyway once the router is turned on now, it will become connected to both gateways and will start routing traffic. I can access dd-wrt on the router from either of the two networks.

Cheap and easy way to have a DD-WRT router. The reason I bought this router was to flash it with DD-WRT and use it as a wireless bridge. I was able to flash it easily after watching a YouTube how-to video. I was then able to configure it as a wireless bridge after reading some instructions from the DD-WRT wiki site.
